CIRENCESTER advanced to the fourth round of the EDF Senior Vase with a 25-17 victory over Milton Keynes.
It was an unexpected win for Ciren against a side who ply their trade in the league above but it was a deserved victory.
Cirencester fell behind to an early try but levelled through Dave Evans.
Keynes had a man sent to the sin bin and Ciren took full advantage with Josh Brierly given them the lead and James Fisher adding a penalty.
Milton Keynes added an unconverted try before Alex Hammond set up Andy Halsey on a run to the line.
Turning around 18-12 in front, Ciren extended their lead when Navesu scored a converted try to wrap up a fine giantkilling.Minety seconds ran Bradford on Avon close in the first round of the 2nd XV Shield, but despite camping on their opponents’ line in the closing minutes of the game, could not find the decisive breakthrough.
Bradford scored first only for Will Howse to respond for Minety - before he left the field with a hamstring injury.
The hosts went back in front thanks to a breakaway try but Lee Patterson struck back with Tim Vaughan converting to give Minety a 12-10 lead.
In the second half, Bradford pounced on Minety’s mistakes to go in front 25-12.
A try and a penalty goal from Vaughan closed the gap to 25-19 but Minety failed to peg their hosts back again.
Swindon Supermarine were in action for the first time in six weeks and went down 27-0 against Cheltenham.
After starting brightly, Marine conceded after a lapse in concentration.
And further mistakes cost them dear as Cheltenham added four further tries to wrap up victory.
