SUPERMARINE have no game this weekend after their opponents in the Dorset & Wilts Plate first round, Blandford, pulled out on Tuesday.

Chairman Hwyel Rees revealed that the situation was a blessing in disguise for Marine, with several players given the opportunity to recuperate from niggling injuries.

“Blandford told us earlier in the week that they wouldn’t be making the fixture, but there has been no reason forthcoming.

“These things happen, and it is a little disappointing but it gives the guys a chance to rest and sort themselves out for next week.

Swindon go into their Intermediate Cup first round clash with Dorchester this week in need of a boost after successive demoralising defeats.

But Neil Loader’s outfit will be hard-pressed to secure progression against a Dorchester side who have won five out of five in Southern Counties South.

Minety travel to Aylesbury in the same competition still struggling to establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with this season.

Aylesbury, on the other hand, have kick-started their seasons with consecutive wins after they lost their opening three games of the season, and will be an ominous prospect for Minety to topple.
