SUPERMARINE Ladies went try crazy as they overwhelmed an Army side 79-3 at the weekend.

With the game reduced to 12-a-side due to a lack of players, Marine quickly took control and set up camp in the Army half for much of the match.

Up front the home side dominated, and prop Sarah Holmes was first over the tryline before fly-half Claire Legg and winger Hannah Gardin touched down, with Nat Williams adding the extras with the boot.

Marine played expansive rugby and made good use of the space to find gaps for Gemma Richards and Becky Chester to run to the line.

Number eight Candy Inskip and cooker Teresa Bicknell also got in on the act as the home side opened up a 49-0 lead at half-time.

After the break Williams registered a quickfire brace before the Army registered their only points of the game via a drop-kick, and Marine continued where they had left off as Holmes and Inskip grabbed their second tries of the afternoon and Corinne Hunter rounded off the scoring.
