CHRIS Van Straaten has lavished praise on guest Peter Karlsson ahead of the veteran Swede’s return to Wolverhampton tonight.

Karlsson has spent the majority of his 20-year-plus British career at Monmore Green, but this campaign finds himself occupying the number one spot at Lakeside.

With Freddie Lindgren ruled out through injury, Wolves moved swiftly for a capable replacement and Karlsson will certainly be a popular choice amongst fans of the West Midlands side.

For Van Straaten, Karlsson is already a club legend having won a string of honours with the Wolves, most notably league titles in 1996, 2002 and 2009.

“We are delighted to welcome PK back as a guest for Freddie and we hope he can be a hero for us once again,” said Van Straaten.

“He is assured of legendary status at this club along with the likes of Sam Ermolenko and I'm sure the fans will give him a great welcome.

“Swindon are once again a good side this season in the defence of their Elite League title and we are looking forward to a good meeting.”

Wolverhampton will continue to utilise the rider replacement facility for the injured Ty Proctor, who is out for the rest of the campaign with nerve and muscle damage.
