THERE is silverware up for grabs in Swindon Robins’ double-header with Poole Pirates on Good Friday after it was confirmed yesterday that both sides will also compete for the postponed Elite Shield.
After the original clash was postponed, the British Speedway Promoters’ Association have approved a proposal to allow both meeting to count towards the Elite Shield.
Robins boss Alun Rossiter said: “It gives the two meetings, which already carry great interest, something extra. It should be a great day.”
The action begins on Friday at 11am at Wimborne Road before returning to Blunsdon for 8pm.
Gates open at 7pm at Blunsdon on Friday with the first 300 children through gates receiving a free easter egg.
