SWINDON Speedway have mounted a cover-up operation – to ensure tonight’s mouthwatering Elite League play-off with Coventry goes ahead.
The Robins track staff and volunteers spent Sunday afternoon putting covers down on the Abbey Stadium track with today’s rain forecast.
The club are determined to beat the autumnal conditions and put on a great show for the fans with a bumper crowd expected.
Coventry lead by eight-points from the first leg with a place in the Grand Final on the line.
Robins boss Alun Rossiter said: “Full credit to Ronnie Russell and his volunteers, giving up their time on Sunday to put the covers down was magnificent.
“The forecast suggests the rain will clear early afternoon so we are looking forward to taking the covers off and seeing a great night of speedway.”
The action starts at 7.30 and Swindon are chasing their second Grand Final in three seasons.
