RORY Schlein’s testimonial did not prove to be a happy hunting ground for Robins skipper Troy Batchelor as he failed to score in his first run out of the year.
The Australian’s first heat saw him excluded at the tapes and things did not improve as he ended his next outing pointless, before a retirement and another blank.
Former teammate Dakota North had a better time of it, making a five-man final where he came in last. Kenneth Bjerre was the overall winner at the Norfolk Arena on Sunday, besting King’s Lynn teammate Niels-Kristian Iversen, with Chris Harris third and Schlein fourth.
Over in Peterborough Batchelor’s teammate Kyle Howarth had a rather better evening, picking up eight points riding for a Great Britain select team overseen by Robins boss Alun Rossiter.
Lewis Rose also picked up a 5+1 as the GB side lost out to Peterborough Panthers, in a meeting marred by injury to Panthers rider Adam Roynon.
