IT’S been a really good week for me, having been with Great Britain in the World Cup and ridden in the British Final.

It was always going to be tough for me to make the latter stages in Wolverhampton but I am really proud of how I got on.

I let myself down having that fall in my fourth heat. We changed the set-up a bit and tried to do something different but it didn’t quite work.

If I hadn’t come off, I’m sure I could have got the point or two I needed to go through to the semi-final but that’s speedway and you’ve just got to make the most of these experiences and move on.

It was a really good meeting overall. There were lots of good races and a few crashes as well because the track was quite tricky, so I think the crowd were entertained.

British speedway is on the rise at the moment. We’ve got some really good established riders and lots of young ones coming through as well.

I was only a reserve for the World Cup and obviously I would have loved to have got a ride but Rosco made his choice and picked the team he believed could get through to the final.

It was still a great achievement to be in the squad and I loved every minute of it, so there’s always next year and I’ve got a lot of hopes for that.

It was a really good atmosphere in Vojens for the race-off. At one point I thought we were going through for sure. I reckon we scared the Poles and I don’t think they realised how good we were going to be.

The boys gave them a run for their money and it’s a shame we couldn’t get the job done but that’s life.

To have Tai Woffinden in the team was great. I tried to learn as much as I could from him and he showed us all a few things here and there, which was great.

Being so close to him for a few days is definitely going to help me going forwards. He’s a great rider and he’s doing something special at the moment.

Hopefully, whatever issues there were with the BSPA, him and Rosco have got sorted. It sounds like they have, so that’ll be good news for the British team in the future.
