JUSTIN Sedgmen wants to emulate his hometown hero Leigh Adams upon his Robins return at number two.

Adams was still with the Robins when Sedgmen first joined the club in 2008 and learnt first-hand from the Swindon legend.

Back in Mildura, the town where Sedgmen and Adams live for the Australian season, the pair see each other regularly and discuss speedway.

Now aged 23 and vastly more experienced, Sedgmen feels he is in a better place to return and has lofty ambitions for his third stint at Blunsdon to try and follow in the footsteps of Adams.

“I spent a lot of time in Swindon in my first few years. With Leigh Adams and Steve Johnstone both living there, it was a nice set-up to be involved in,” said Sedgmen.

“I know personally that Leigh really wanted to win the league with Swindon and he never got to do it. That’s the kind of feeling I want to get.

“I live in the same town as Leigh and we’re always saying hello.

“He’s a rode a lot of years with Alun Rossiter and Terry Russell and you’ve got to take your hat off to him really. He rode a lot of years for Swindon and hopefully I can fill his boots.”
