SWINDON Speedway have put an end to confusion after confirming that Jason Doyle and Nick Morris will be racing against Somerset Rebels at the Oak Tree Arena on Friday, March 18.

A Robins Select will be competing in a challenge match against a Somerset Rebels Select as both clubs build up to the start of their official seasons.

Confusion arose this week when Doyle was named in a King’s Lynn line-up to face Polish club Wroclaw at the Adrian Flux Arena on the same evening, with Morris a squad member for the visitors.

But both will be part of the meeting at Somerset, where the home club will be bringing in former Robin Peter Kildemand in order to strengthen at the top of the order.

With three riders racing for both Somerset and Swindon this season, league priority will be observed which means Rohan Tungate and Charles Wright will line up for the Rebels Select, with Josh Grajczonek racing for the Robins Select.

Swindon regulars Justin Sedgmen and Stefan Nielsen will join Doyle, Morris and Grajczonek along with club asset Darryl Ritchings and one rider to be confirmed.

Swindon boss Alun Rossiter said: “We’re aware of the uncertainty over the last 24 hours and it’s important for us to clarify that both Jason and Nick will be racing at Somerset.

“It was an unfortunate situation and we thank King’s Lynn for their understanding in getting matters resolved.

“We will be racing as select teams, and if all goes to plan our final rider on the night will also have Swindon connections.”
