IT IS pretty exciting to be heading to Manchester this evening and be the first to compete at the new National Stadium.

I think they have done a lot of work since the curtain raiser, which ended in disappointment.

It looks like they have figured out the bugs so it is all looking good for their first league meeting on the track.

They have kind of set the benchmark now for other tracks in the UK to catch up to.

Obviously they have had a lot of help behind the scenes with the council to build it but it shows it can be done.

I know personally from my home track in Mildura, Australia, they have done a lot of work in the last three years with the state government help.

It doesn’t happen overnight to build a new facility and be as state of the art as it is but it shows that it can be done and hopefully a few other tracks can do the same.

The tracks in the UK are not up to the same standards as those in the rest of Europe.

The unfortunate thing is the clubs don’t own the track in a lot of cases, so it just makes it a bit more difficult.

Belle Vue have shown that it can be done and hopefully Swindon in the next year can show that they can do it as well. Swindon can learn not to make the same mistakes as Belle Vue did but they are not building a national stadium.

Belle Vue’s stadium was a big job in itself and I have no doubt that the Swindon track will be fantastic but I don’t think it will cost as much.

Hopefully, whoever is running the show can get cracking with it because we definitely need it for 2017.

I don’t think the fans should be panicking. I think they are only looking at the bad stories and are not looking at the success stories.

It will happen and you have just got to have faith in the people who are running it.

Unfortunately it is something to do with speedway, there are a lot of knockers in the sport and you don’t need that sort of criticism when people are doing all they can.

People just need to be patient and support the situation. It is the same when it comes to the team and we are all proving them wrong and it is going well so far.

Hopefully, with Belle Vue’s lack of riding on their new track we can go there tonight and get the job done to extend our winning streak to four races.
