SWINDON'S new Blunsdon Stadium will host the FIM World Under 21 Final first leg next season.
The new facility will host one of the most prestigious meetings on the international speedway calendar on Sunday, July 23, just a month after its scheduled opening.
Swindon boss Alun Rossiter said: “This is a massive honour for the club and we are delighted to be staging such an important event.
“We have to thank the people at Onesport for putting their faith in us and it also represents a great opportunity for fans to go to Cardiff for the GP on the Saturday then come across and see this the following day.
“I always like to keep a close eye on the Under-21 competition and for us to be staging a big event like this shortly after moving into the new stadium is tremendous.
“It’s a reward for the club, the town of Swindon and of course the stadium owners, they have wanted to see world class meetings come to the Abbey and this is great.
“Let’s hope we see some strong British representation on the day as I’m sure the fans will get behind the Brits.”
