SWINDON Robins reserve Zach Wajtknecht was crowned the British U19 champion in Plymouth last night.

Wajtknecht won all five of his rides to accumulate 15 points, finishing ahead of Belle Vue's Dan Bewley, who edged out clubmate Kyle Bickley and Birmingham's Jack Parkinson-Blackburn.

Meanwhile, Australia skipper Chris Holder says no pressure is being put on Swindon Robins skipper to race in tonight's Speedway World Cup run-off in Leszno.

The Aussies will battle it out with Russia, the USA and Latvia for the right to join hosts Poland, Great Britain - managed by Swindon team boss Alun Rossiter - and Sweden in tomorrow night's final.

They have already made one change with national champion Sam Masters replacing injured Swindon rider Nick Morris due to injury but Australia are playing it by ear with regard to Doyle, who is still recovering from broken bones in his foot sustained in a crash in Poland last month.

Holder said: “We’ll just see how he (Doyle) goes and how he’s feeling. If he can do it, it would be awesome because he’s the form guy in the world at the minute. It would be nice to have him with us. But at the same time, he has a long season to think about too.

“There are plenty of options on the table, we just have to wait it out, see how it goes and if he’s up to it, it’s awesome. If he’s not, everyone else is busting their backsides too.”
