IT IS always good to get back to action and last week at the Abbey Stadium especially as we clinched the Charity Shield.

Practising is alright, but there is nothing like going out there and actually racing.

That was the main thing, to just be back out there against other riders.

I think Belle Vue was a nervous one for me but in the end I managed to sort everything out and get back up to speed with my bike.

Swindon have started with a win and it was a good confidence boost for me and the team.

The win settled the nerves a little bit and it is nice to get some points on the board.

The league is more difficult than it was last year, but I think I did alright . I feel like I am riding better this year than I was last year, I’m more comfortable on the bike, which is always a good thing.

This evening we were due to start the domestic season with a meeting against Leicester Lions, but it has been called off due to the weather.

As a rider you do all sorts of things when meetings are called off, it depends, if you have bikes to do you do that.

I go and do some construction work with my Dad if I can, so if I can help him out I do that as he helps me out too.

I have a double header on Good Friday with Lakeside and then we have a double header against Rye House on Easter Monday.

Obviously you want to ride and nobody wants to have a meeting called off but you don’t want to be riding when you can’t see.

It’s frustrating when you have to do that, you try to do your best at home but if the track has a bit of water on it it’s hard to do that.
