SWINDON team manager Alun Rossiter has insisted former Robin Lee Richardson will never be forgotten, but is hoping his side will be focused on speedway when they return to Purfleet to take on Lakeside tonight.

The two sides went head-to-head on May 18 amid tragic circumstances, with the meeting coming just days after the death of the former Hammers captain following a crash in Poland.

A ceremony of remembrance was held before the emotionally charged meeting, and while Rossiter insisted one of speedway’s most universally liked characters will never be forgotten, the Robins boss is expecting the two sides to be concentrating on speedway this evening.

“Lee has gone but he will never be forgotten, and I am sure during the meeting he will be in the back of all of our minds,” he said. “Last time was hard, and I don’t think our minds were on the job which is only natural.

“We will always think about him, and that is only right, but I think this time we will go there and be a lot more focussed.”
