SWINDON'S Jazz Carlin has capped off a fine Mare Nostrum Series with another gold in Barcelona.

The Tigershark took to the pool last night in her second 400m freestyle final of the week and looked comfortable as she claimed her fourth gold of the week with a time of 4:06.97.

Carlin led from the outset of the race, making a decisive break at the halfway stage, to take her second gold medal in 24 hours, having claimed the 800m freestyle title the evening before.

The  24-year-old completed a quartet of series wins to add to the pair of victories in the 400m and 1,500m freestyle golds in Canet, France last weekend.

“I am feeling a bit heavy so it is good to get out there and race. I was happy with the 400m in Canet. It is good to get into the mix. It’s just about moving on to Kazan now," said Carlin after her 800m win on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Swindon-born Hannah Miley finished third in the same final to add to her 400m individual medley silver on Wednesday night and her gold in the same event in Canet last weekend.

Tilly Gray was also in action yesterday in the 50m butterfly but couldn't make it out of her heat with a time of 28.51.
