WITH exam season fast approaching students are clinging to lucky pants, pens and mascots to get them through.

According to a survey by pen company BIC 65 per cent of students say they are superstitious with a third becoming more so at exam time.

Thirty per cent admit to wearing ‘good luck undies’ while others wear lucky jewellery (24 per cent), use lucky pens (20 per cent) or have a toy mascot (15 per cent).

Good luck charms aren’t the only thing people do for exams, according to the report.

A change in diet was cited by 60 per cent who look for foods to boost brainpower and aid memory function, with 53 per cent turning to fish and 46 per cent upping their fruit and veg intake.

Of course we all know good revision is key. BIC’s research shows that nearly a quarter (23 per cent) only start revision the day before an exam, with 61 per cent admitted staying up late to cram and a hardy 40 per cent pull all-nighters.
