OWAIN Tudur Jones looks set to sign a new loan deal that will keep him at Town until the end of the season.

The midfielder’s current one-month loan is up soon and Town manager Danny Wilson wants to thrash out a deal in the next few days.

“We’ll do it this week,” said Wilson, following Saturday’s 0-0 stalemate with Crewe.

“I’ve been delighted with him. You can see he’s a quality footballer and he does offer us a great deal in that midfield area.”

The Swansea man has made six starts since signing in March and says he wants to maintain first-team football.

“I’d rather be here playing than going back to Swansea and maybe sitting in the stands,” he said.

“I’m hoping maybe that (a deal) can be done in the next couple of days.

“I can then settle down knowing I’m going to be here for another month, for those vital five games.”

On the subject of his future beyond the end of this campaign, Tudur Jones remained coy.

“My aim is to perform to as a high a level as possible in the remaining games of the season, and what happens after that, we’ll just wait and see,” he said.

Boss Wilson admitted he was disappointed with his team’s lack of cutting edge against Crewe.

He said: “It’s quite frustrating from my point of view.

“We had the lion’s share of possession, but we didn’t really have that little bit of quality in the last third at times.”
