TOWN season ticket holders can now receive discounts on rail travel after the club linked up with First Great Western.

Anyone travelling from Bath, Chippenham, Didcot, Gloucester, Melksham, Stroud, Kemble and Swindon, to any designated First Great Western destination will be eligible for a 10 per cent discount on Off Peak and Super Off Peak firms, providing they can produce their season ticket and another form of identification.

Swindon chief executive Nick Watkins said: “We are always exploring ways in which we can provide extra benefits for season ticket holders, to reward their loyalty, and this is one of a number of such initiatives that we will be looking to introduce.

“A partnership with First Great Western is an excellent way in which to commence this initiative.”

Andy Saunders, partnerships manager at First Great Western, added: “We are always looking for ways to build stronger working relationships with key businesses and organisations throughout our network.

“We are delighted to be working with Swindon Town FC in this way and look forward to welcoming their fans onto our services.”

Meanwhile, Swindon Town Football in the Community Trust is on the lookout for new coaches due to the expansion of their girls soccer centre programme, which kicks off in September.

The Trust is seeking coaches who have the FA Level Two qualification, and anyone interested should call Shane Hewlett on 01793 617718 or send their CV to Shane Hewlett, STFC Community Office, County Ground, Swindon. Interviews will be held during this month.
