CO-OWNER Terry Russell wants Robins to wave goodbye to their current Abbey Stadium home in style after giving his thumbs-up to Swindon's 2007 riding line-up.

Russell, who went into partnership with new investor Gary Patchett earlier this year, is determined the club will say a golden farewell to their home track, before they are moved into a planned new stadium by Blunsdon site owners Gaming International.

Swindon unveiled a strong 2007 team yesterday, featuring skipper Leigh Adams, British ace Lee Richardson, Poland's Sebastian Ulamek and Tomasz Chrzanowski, Danes Charlie Gjedde and Mads Korneliussen and British youngster Andrew Moore.

And Russell, who revealed that Swindon completed the full transfer of Chrzanowski and were planning the same for Moore, said: "It seems like it will be the last season on that track but not at Blunsdon so we are making every effort this time to finish on a high.

"That doesn't mean to say we haven't tried in the past. But the team looks very strong and I will certainly be having a bet on it when the odds come out.

"It is certainly about as good as we could have put together.

"We have been fortunate in the team building with the way the averages have fallen in our favour.

"I did state before the end of the season that we didn't envisage many changes to the side that finished third last season and we have only made two.

"We have brought back Charlie Gjedde and brought Andrew Moore back out of retirement. They replace Renat Gafurov and Adrian Miedzinski.

"But in speedway you are always dependent on staying way from injuries.

"I know the commitment is there from the riders and Andrew Moore was certainly too good a rider to retire."

At most of the clubs he has been involved with or owned, Russell has been keen to build up his asset base and not use too many loan riders.

And the same applies here in Swindon.

"Tomasz Chrzanowski was on loan from Poole last season," added Russell.

"He wanted to come back and ride for Swindon so he has re-joined us on a full transfer.

"And I am negotiating with Sheffield to bring Andrew Moore here on a full transfer. We have spent a lot of time and money on him getting him out of retirement and want him as an asset.

"Andrew's confidence was absolutely broken at Eastbourne having to ride at number two but here with us he will be at reserve.

"And to be honest him and Korneliussen could be staying at reserve all season.

"It is very unusual to have such a strong top five as we have got and still potential to increase.

"Tomasz is on a low average at present but it will definitely go up to six plus when he has done enough matches.

"And both Charlie (Gjedde) and Lee (Richardson) saw their averages dip last season. They were eight point riders the previous season.

"Hopefully we will benefit from their low averages and the way they both rode at the end of 2006."

Russell added: "Gafurov and Miedzinski will stay as Swindon riders and be offered out on loan. A couple of clubs have shown an interest.

"I am not sure about Miedzinski's attitude to British speedway while I was not happy with Renat missing some many matches even though it wasn't his fault.

"He was very exciting to watch and a good rider but his Russian commitments meant he could not commit fully after May - so I wasn't going down that rode again.

"As well as Renat and Adrian, Jonas Davisson and Oliver Allen have also been circulated.''
