SWINDON Town defender Raphael Branco has been handed a three-match ban by the FA for his off-the-ball elbow on former Robin Aden Flint.
The incident took place at a corner in the opening minutes of Town’s 3-0 defeat away at League One leaders Bristol City on Tuesday night.
That ban will serve on top of the two-game suspension Branco is currently serving for collecting 10 bookings during the season.
He will therefore miss Swindon’s next five fixtures and will not be available again until the trip to Colchester on Tuesday, April 28 – the penultimate game of the season.
A statement on the FA’s website said: “Swindon Town’s Raphael Rossi Branco will serve a three-match suspension with immediate effect after he admitted an act of violent conduct which was not seen by the match officials but caught on video.
“The FA charge was in relation to an incident which occurred in the 6th minute of Swindon’s game at Bristol City on 7 April 2015.”
