SWINDON Town have announced this afternoon that they have secured a major new sponsorship deal with multi-national building services contractor, Axis.

Chairman Lee Power had hinted that a big deal was in the offing after making a trip to Australia at the end of last year but it has been confrimed today.

The deal, which will initially run until the end of the 2015/16 season, will see the Axis Group’s branding placed on the back of both the home and away professional and replica shirts.

Steve Anderson, general manager at Swindon Town, told the club's website: “It is fantastic to have such a big international organisation and brand on board with the football club.

"As well as bringing in more revenue to the club it also gives both parties the opportunity to work on projects within the local community and for the Axis Group to use Swindon Town as a vehicle to grow their brand nationally in the UK.

"With Swindon Town having two international players in Massimo Luongo and Yaser Kasim, playing for Australia and Iraq respectively, this partnership works for both the club and Axis.

"Axis will gain more brand exposure in these countries where their brand is well established and in the UK it will provide them with national coverage making people aware of Axis and what they do.

"From the club's perspective this partnership takes the Swindon Town Football Club brand international and will give us scope to work with in the future.

"I would like to thank all at Axis for their continued hard work on this sponsorship and we look forward to working together for the foreseeable future.”

Mike Layzell, UK sales director at Axis, said: “We welcome the opportunity to support Swindon Town in what looks like being a very exciting time in the club’s development.

"Swindon Town  has a progressive, optimistic approach; with a group of young players who play the game the right way and this has resonance with our business model as we grow within the UK.

"We hope our involvement will help the club to achieve its goals in the coming season and beyond.”

With offices across Australia, New Zealand, UK, USA and Asia, Axis provide mechanical, electrical and public health services to some of the world's largest construction companies and developers.

The UK office is based in London and the company is currently engaged in a number of high-end residential and commercial office schemes in London and the South East.
