TOWN'S new signing Jordan Williams has said that he can't wait to get started, after joining on a one year loan deal from Liverpool.

The 19-year-old midfielder joined up with Town today and is expected to make his debut at the County Ground in tomorrow's pre-season friendly with Everton.

Willams, who had a period on loan at relegated League One outfit Notts County last season, has said that Swindon's style of play was a major factor in him making the move to Wiltshire.

“I went on loan last season to Notts County,” he told swindontownfc.co.uk.

“That was a good experience but I just want to come here and play more games. It’s a team that plays a similar way to Liverpool so that’s good for me to learn.

“League 1 is a tough league. I was on loan there last season and I didn’t expect it to be that tough but I enjoyed it. I can’t wait to get started here.

“Today was my first day.

“I trained with Liverpool yesterday and joined up with the team today. The lads are brilliant. I knew Tyrell (Belford) before I came so I spoke to him and he said the lads are great. It’s a young group - I knew that before I came - that likes to play football.

“I’m quite versatile. I’ve played centre-back, central midfield and right-back but coming here will do me the world of good. I like to get the ball down and play. I love to be on the ball.”
