SWINDON Town Ladies will be looking to build on the momentum started with an emphatic win on the opening day of the season when they travel to St Nicholas tomorrow.

The ladies kicked off their Premier League Division One South West campaign with a 5-1 victory over Southampton Saints at Shrivenham’s Barrington Park.

Last week’s stand-in manager Kim Reeves is happy to hand the reins back to manager Steve Robertson with her 100 per cent record intact and is hoping that the side will build on the strong foundations set down.

“Steve comes back this weekend and I am going to bow out on a high,” said Reeves.

“We’ll prepare the way that we always prepare for a game.

“Despite the scoreline last weekend, we know there are still some things that we can work on.

“It is just about keeping that momentum going now.

“We have had a good start but, as we know in football, it all starts again this weekend.

“We need to start this game the same way we started against Southampton and, hopefully, we’ll get the same positive results.”

Town will be without Meg Vella, Michelle Rich, Sam Quinn and Meg Attenborough for the trip to Yate.

However, they will welcome back Laura Morgan and Beth Westlake to the squad and Reeves says they should not be fearing anyone in the league.

“I don’t think there is a side in the league that we should be worried about,” she added.

“I think that we can compete with anybody and everybody. At this level they are all well organised passionate teams.”
