TOWN chairman Lee Power has revealed that there may be a route back to Swindon Town for departed goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.

Vigouroux was recalled from his loan spell at Town by parent club Liverpool after being dropped to the bench for Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Colchester United because of a ‘disciplinary internal matter’, said to be turning up late for training.

He started Town’s opening eight League One fixtures of the campaign but was spoken to by manager Mark Cooper and senior players about his attitude, amid reports that the 21 year old had then turned up with his fine in bank bags full of pennies.

Vigouroux was less than two months into a season-long loan stint in Wiltshire, having impressed at Town during a trial over the summer - but was at Doncaster tonight to watch Town in action.

Speaking to BBC Wiltshire prior to tonight's match at Doncaster Rovers, Power revealed that there was still dialogue between Town and Liverpool over the gloveman and doesn't believe any return to the County Ground is dead in the water.

Power said of the Vigouroux departure: "I've been over in Belgrade and it even made the news over there.

"I'm going to speak to Mark and catch up after the game.

"It's the kid's first loan experience and he's getting to know the lads. Obviously there has been a fallout, which happens many, many times and we'll just have to see how that situation pans out.

"I think he's done fantastically while he's been here on the pitch and hopefully it's something that can be sorted out between the players and the management and he can come back.

"The manager will let me know and obviously Liverpool will let us know their thoughts on the matter.

"I don't think it's set in stone that he's not (going to come back), not from what I've been told.

"It's an internal matter that has been dealt with. There's a conversation I know Mark's having with Liverpool and we should have more insight to that by the morning.''

Power also appeared to rule out any further dip into the loan market with striker Wes Thomas ruled out for more than a month.

The chairman added: "I think he's out for four to six week which is a big blow. Wes is a handful and he's just beginning to find his feet and it's a major blow for us.''

Of trying to set up a possible new loan, he said: "Probably not now. Jermaine Hylton is back, Jon Obika is back so we're fairly comfortable. I think we've got enough bodies up there and enough quality, if it clicks.''

Power acccepted that the team were performing below expectations after three defeats on the bounce.

"There's been no fluidity in the team,'' he added.

"I appreciate that the team's just been put together and it takes time to gel but I thought we'd be a little more further forward than we are.

"But we are where we are and I still believe that the squad and the team that has been put together is more than capable of challenging this season.

"But we've lost three on the bounce and they need to go on a run as soon as possible.''
