SWINDON Town head coach Luke Williams has some defensive issues to address ahead of tomorrow’s trip to AFC Wimbledon, with Lloyd Jones unlikely to be fit in time to feature at Kingsmeadow.
The Liverpool loanee had expressed that he would be targeting a return in south west London, having already missed three games with a hip injury and muscle tear, but has had to pull out of training this week.
With Jamie Sendles-White out for the season and Raphael Branco set to serve the first of his three-match ban for an elbow on Lawrie Wilson last weekend, defensive options are limited for the Town boss.
However, Williams will be boosted by the knowledge that Conor Thomas should be fit to face the Dons.
The midfielder, who has been used as a make-shift central defender already this season, was forced off with a hip injury against Bolton.
However, the knock was diagnosed as just bruising and is likely to feature tomorrow, with Bradley Barry also on course for a return to the squad.
Meanwhile, there is still no timescale on the return of striker Jonthan Obika, who missed last weekend’s defeat at the County Ground having sustained a knee injury during training last Friday.
