Adver Sport's guide to tonight's League One opponents: Northampton Town

THE CHALKBOARD

Swindon Advertiser:
Justin Edinburgh

JUSTIN Edinburgh has not made sweeping changes at Northampton Town since taking over as manager a month ago but what he has done is bring a fresh impetus to Sixfields.
Fans were beginning to get restless with life under Rob Page as the Cobblers slid down the table, with the team appearing bogged down and playing drab football.
There was a sense that Page’s style of play was too negative, whereas Edinburgh has switched to an attack-minded approach and the more exciting football has seen the Cobblers score 11 goals and collect six points from his five games at the helm.
When they do hit the back of the net, there is a sense of confidence that Northampton will get further goals and kill off a game and they are showing more composure under pressure now too.

A MAN IN FORM: John-Joe O’Toole

MIDFIELDER John-Joe O’Toole was the hero for Northampton Town at the weekend as he got two goals in the 3-1 win over Chesterfield that moved his side six points clear of the League One relegation zone.
The 28-year-old Irishman was also on target the previous weekend in the narrow defeat at Walsall and only two Cobblers players have notched more than his eight goals so far this season.
O’Toole, who is in his third season at the club, excelled last term as he helped Northampton secure promotion from League Two and he has shown no signs of a dip in form in the third tier.
The former Bristol Rovers man has only missed two league matches so far this term, both of those through suspension, and has come to the fore in the Cobblers’ big matches recently.
Prior to his brace against the Spireites last time out, he also impressed in the win over bottom side Coventry City in late January.

TREATMENT ROOM

Swindon Advertiser:
Alex Revell

NORTHAMPTON Town are likely to have to do without joint top scorer Alex Revell for the visit of Swindon Town tonight as he continues to struggle with a calf injury.
Revell limped off in the first half of the Cobblers’ clash at MK Dons back on January 21 and has missed the last three games as a result.
Boss Justin Edinburgh has seen his forward line further depleted as on-loan Scunthorpe United striker Luke Williams is out with a knee problem.
Williams was forced to miss Saturday’s win at home to Chesterfield and has since returned to his parent club for further assessment.
Another striker, Sam Hoskins, has a knee injury of his own.
Centre back Gabriel Zakuani is also a doubt after returning from Africa Cup of Nations duty with DR Congo with a hamstring complaint, while full-back Brendan Moloney is a long-term absentee with a knee injury.
