ADVER Sport's Michael Reeves hands out his verdict on Swindon Town's performances in the 1-0 defeat to Newport County.
REICE CHARLES-COOK: Had very little to do, but was caught flat-footed by the Newport. 6.5
BEN PURKISS: Distributed the ball, looked very composed for the majority of the game. 7
MATT PRESTON: Solid throughout the match and was a rock at the back. Brought some muscle to back Iandolo up when needed. 7.5
OLLY LANCASHIRE: A calm performance by the skipper but did have a couple of hairy moments. 6.5
ELLIS IANDOLO: Was targeted by Frank Nouble and at times was easily brushed aside, but got stronger as the game went on. 6
PAUL MULLIN: Got forward well and delivered some good crosses, but when the opportunity arose to shoot he was well off target. 6
MATT TAYLOR: Moved into the heart of the midfield and pulled the strings with some good balls. 6.5
JAMES DUNNE: Another solid if not spectacular performer in the Town line-up did his job with little fuss. 6.5
JOHN GODDARD: Got forward well, but at times was guilty of over-running the ball. 6
KESHI ANDERSON: (Booked) A quiet afternoon for the Palace forward, couple of half chances. 6.5
HARRY SMITH: Battled hard for Town as he led the line, but just lacked that killer touch. 6
SUBS:
KAIYNE WOOLERY: (On for Goodard 76) – Made a couple of runs but couldn’t find a way through. 6
KELLAN GORDON: (On for Iandolo 79) – Again attempted to probe the Newport defence but to no avail. 6
JAMES BROPHY: (On for Mullin 89) – Went close in injury time to finding an equaliser. 6
