SWINDON Town have rubbished local radio reports suggesting a takeover at the County Ground could take place today.
Town fans were yesterday alerted to the possibility that the potential new investors could move in "within 24 hours," a notion dismissed by the club.
A spokesman said: "Nothing has changed from our point of view. We are still working towards the time-frame set out in our statement.
"The rumours came from the BBC, we've not said anything about this ourselves.
"We would ask fans to be patient and stick with us while the negotiations are ongoing."
With former QPR and West Ham defender Rufus Brevett now installed as Town's sporting director, rumours spread quickly that a takeover was imminent.
But club officials maintain due diligence is still ongoing and that the deal should be completed within "a matter of weeks rather than days".
