SIMON Cox has warned he will be "banging down the manager's door" if he is not given a full Town league debut on Sunday after netting in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last night.

The Reading loanee headed Town ahead at the County Ground, after Ibon Arrieta had cancelled out former Robin Ricky Shakes' opener, as Swindon cruised to a 4-1 first round win over Brentford.

Cox only arrived in Wiltshire on Friday on loan until January and, after a goalscoring competitive debut, he believes he has done enough to earn a starting slot in front of the Sky cameras against Yeovil on Sunday.

He said: "I have come here to play games and after that performance I expect to play on Sunday.

"If I am not in the team I will be knocking on the manager's door to ask why.

"My initial reaction is I am coming here to play games. I don't want to do anything but. If I perform like that every week I want to be in the team, every minute of every game.

"I want to be playing every game. I am here till January and who knows what will happen then. If I am playing well and in the side I will do all I can to win the game."

Chris Blackburn, skipper for the night, grabbed a brace on his Town debut as Paul Sturrock's inexperienced side made light work of a previously unbeaten Brentford.

Portuguese defender, and former Accrington Stanley player, Mauro Almeida was also given a debut after it was revealed he was signed last week, although Sturrock refused to be drawn saying the details would be revealed at a press conference on Thursday.

Boss Sturrock meanwhile has revealed he is meeting the club's hierarchy today to discuss a few issues.

He said: "Mauro has signed and there will be a press conference in the next couple of days that will give you all that information. I thought he was very competent, he did his job professionally.

"Our new fitness coach is another thing we will discuss at the press conference.

"About our goalkeeping coach, there will be a meeting with the chairman tomorrow about all that scenario. I would like to finalise things and bring John Granville in.

"The chairman is here all day tomorrow so him and I are going to have to sit down and have a good two to three hours on all the topics I want to bring up."
