CRAIG Easton insists Town should not fear any of their League One rivals, despite slipping to successive defeats for the first time under Paul Sturrock's tenure.

The Robins followed last week's dire showing at Port Vale with another 2-1 reverse at home to Doncaster Rovers, but Easton is convinced Swindon are still moving in the right direction.

He said: "It's that time of the season when the games come thick and fast. If we can get some wins under our belt we will start climbing that table.

"I cannot see we should fear anybody. We've not been playing particularly well, but we know how we can play.

"We showed that in spells today, but maybe not for quite long enough."

Easton endured a frustrating afternoon at the heart of the Town midfield, with himself and Lee Peacock both confronted with a wall of blue and white shirts.

But the summer signing from Leyton Orient believes Swindon toiled hard enough to earn a point at least from Saturday's fixture.

He said: "It was better than it was against Port Vale. We did pick up a lot of loose balls between me and Peacs.

"We didn't create enough going forward to trouble them enough to get the win, but I felt that we should have taken something out of the game.

"I think we tried to get in their faces and get on the front foot.

"I felt it was pretty even, in the first half we were unlucky to be behind because the goal came against the run of play.

"Then you have to pick yourself up and get back in it, and I thought we did that.

"We gave ourselves a good chance scoring early in the second half, but it wasn't enough in the end.

With his old Orient teammates due at the County Ground tomorrow night, Easton knows three points will be vital to Town's play-off challenge.

"I wouldn't have thought we would have got two defeats on the bounce, but we did and now we have to pick ourselves up," he said.

"Doncaster will be round about it at the end of the season and hopefully we will as well.

"Teams can beat anybody in this league and we've got some big games coming up, so we have to make sure we bounce back quickly."
