SUBSTITUTES Christian Roberts and Billy Paynter sent Town into the second round of the FA Cup as Paul Sturrock's side won 2-1 at Wycombe.
The pair stepped off the bench to break the deadlock after a goalless first half at Adams Park.
Roberts put Town ahead on 66 minutes, controlling a Sofiene Zaaboub cross and firing home from six yards.
Then Paynter found the top corner after the ball was chested down to him by Barry Corr 18 minutes from time.
Zaaboub's misplaced back-header allowed Matt Bloomfield to give Wanderers a lifeline seven minutes before the end.
But Town, who recalled Jack Smith, Ben Tozer, Michael Pook, Blair Sturrock and Corr to a much-changed starting line-up held on to progress.
Town: Peter Brezovan, Jack Smith, Ben Tozer, Hasney Aljofree (capt), Sofiene Zaaboub, Lee Peacock, Craig Easton, Michael Pook, Miguel Comminges, Blair Sturrock, Barry Corr. Subs: Christian Roberts, Jon-Paul McGovern, Chris Blackburn, Steve Adams, Billy Paynter.
