ANDREW Fitton admits there are still some "difficult problems" to solve before his Town takeover is finally sealed - but insists he is the man who will get the deal done.

The Wiltshire businessman signed a conditional takeover on Thursday, with a January 11 deadline set to solve all remaining issues, and Fitton is confident it will eventually go through.

Over the last couple of days St Modwen have approved the development rights issue, leaving an issue surrounding the revenue as the last complication needing to be ironed out.

Fitton said: "There were three conditions. The first related primarily to the development issues surrounding the ground and also to do with the Inland Revenue. The third was a technical issue over the way the shares were held by the existing owners. Two of those were satisfied on Friday.

"The third one, revenue and custonms, is more complicated. I had discussions with them on Friday and I am expecting more on Monday.

"They are difficult problems to solve but we have solved more difficult ones before so I think it is good we have just the one thing to focus on. Everyone is pulling in the same direction. I am sure it will get sorted.

"We are quite tenacious. We did think we would get here but we didn't think it would be quite as difficult as it has been. We have a reputation for getting deals done.

"It was an extraordinarily difficult deal to do. I saw things on websites saying why don't they just sign but it was not as simple as that - it was a very complicated deal."

Fitton confirmed former QPR director Nick Watkins would be unveiled as the club's new chief executive designate later this week, along with other board appointments.
