CRAIG Easton insists Town require all hands on deck' if they want to keep their heads above water in the battle for the League One play-offs.

The Town midfielder returned to the fold against Nottingham Forest last week after a six-game lay-off with a calf injury, and is relishing the prospect of an extended run in the side.

Easton is expected to rekindle his midfield partnership with Lee Peacock for the visit of Walsall tomorrow, with Michael Pook still struggling with a dead leg.

And while Easton recognises the importance of fielding a settled side at this stage of the campaign, he also insists you can never have too many able bodies in the squad.

"Yes, it's good to have a settled team, but at the same time you want the other boys pushing for places," he said.

"It's nice for the gaffer to have a selection headache, so if he's got a few of us available to play at the same time it can only be good for Swindon.

"You just need as many bodies as possible at this time of year. Dick (Mackey) is doing his best to get those who are injured back on the pitch."

Like many of his Town teammates, Easton has had to endure his own injury battle this season, but the hard-working Scot hopes he has finally turned the corner.

After completing 90 minutes against the two-times European Cup winners on Saturday, Easton admits he is just happy to be back in contention.

He said: "The lads had done well without me and it was just pleasing to get a full game under my belt.

"It's been a good week training with the lads and touch wood the injury has fully healed now.

"I had to try and get as fit as possible because I knew we had a lot of games coming up.

"You can't rush it and I just had to just accept it was going to take the length of time it was going to take.

"It feels good to be back though, and it was only because Peacs got injured that I slotted straight back in.

"Michael Pook has done brilliantly every time he's played this season so it's just about grabbing your chance when you get the shirt."

Tomorrow's visitors Walsall know all about Easton after the former Leyton Orient man netted against them in the 2-2 draw at the Bescott Stadium.

With just six points separating the two sides in the League One table, Easton admits this is an opportunity Town can ill afford to miss.

He said: "We know who's in front of us and that's a team we can make ground on.

"It's a big game because we can claw some points back and then who knows the other results could go for us.

"We probably deserved better than the draw we got up there so we know what we're facing.

"We're back at home so hopefully we can get a result in front of our fans again."
