NEWCASTLE United Academy director Richard Money has played down reports linking him to the Swindon Town hot-seat.

Money, who is understood to be on chairman Andrew Fitton's final shortlist of two, claimed he was 'flattered' to be linked with the County Ground post but was 'happy' with his role at Newcastle.

Speaking to the Northern Echo today, he said: "Rumours are rumours until they become fact, and that's all they are at the minute.

"It's flattering to be linked with other jobs, but I'm very happy here.

"I'm enjoying the role, and we'll see what happens."

Money was in charge of Newcastle's second string at Brunton Park yesterday, guiding them to a 6-1 win in Cumbria.

Meanwhile, ex-Town favourite Colin Calderwood appeared to be out of the reckoning after his club today gave him the green light to highlight potential transfer targets for January.

Calderwood is however under intense pressure from the fans at the City Ground and rumours are still rife that he, along with current asssisant and fellow former Town star David Kerslake, are set for a return to the County Ground.
