Three new businesses have opened in Apsley House Arcade, in Wootton Bassett High Street. The news was welcomed by Chamber of Commerce President Anthony Smith.

"It's fabulous news for the town and I am delighted," he said .

"This is a positive step forward for the commercial life of our town."

Town crier Owen Collier attracted shoppers to share in celebrating the event, at which the Mayor and Mayoress, Percy and Sally Miles, officiated.

They also re-launched the Arcade's newly refurbished Nail2Envy salon, where joint proprietors Sarah Selwood and Michele Bevan are assisted by Charlotte Bevan.

Mar-Gins, the new coffee and juice bar (opposite Sophisticatz) is a new venture for Maria Cox and Ginny Burt, who both have a well established reputation in catering.

Mar-Gins offers an extensive eat-in and takeaway menu, with home-made cakes as well as healthy options and a buffet catering service.

Adele Connor, proprietor of Bassett Fruit & Veg, stocks a good range of fresh greengrocery, and is situated opposite Partybox.

The third new business is a health foods shop, where proprietors Martin and Anna Payne are assisted by Martin's mother Cheryl Fowler, a former practice nurse. Their stock covers and they will offer gluten-free and diabetic foods, and talks on nutrition - available to interested local organisations, out of hours.
