STAFF from Hochtief (UK) Construction are getting in gear for a monstrous challenge.

The team will be biking and hiking up to 73 miles in one of the UK's biggest outdoor charity events, Maggie's Monster Bike and Hike 2007, for the second year running.

This year they will be joined by teams from Arval, Gardiner & Theobald, Withy King solicitors, GVE Commercial Solutions and Constructing Excellence Swindon.

There will be six individual teams of four on Saturday and Sunday May 5 to 6 along the Great Glen Way, in Scotland. Participants firstly mountain bike 30 miles and then choose to hike eight (bronze), 22 (silver) or 43 (gold) miles - all non-stop and within 24 hours.

Lorna Rose of Hochtief said: "This year we have spread the word around the Swindon and the region, and convinced other companies to come on board and join us in what is probably one of the most challenging events of a lifetime".

Maggie's is a cancer charity that provides free emotional and practical support to anyone who has, or who has had cancer. The centres also offers emotional and psychological support, as well as practical information.
