Veale Wasbrough Lawyers, sponsors of the Newsquest Wiltshire Business awards, is offering six ambitious trainee lawyers the opportunity for a rewarding legal career in the south west, as they join the firm's successful graduate training programme.

The new trainees, who were selected from over 200 hopeful applicants, will now embark on a two-year development programme which, over recent years has produced many top lawyers, some who have gone on to become partners in the Bristol firm.

Four of the new recruits are making a welcome return to the west having originally studied in the region.

Student Alice Lees said: "I took a degree at Bristol University before moving to London to study law.

"It's great to be back in this vibrant area and to be given the opportunity to join such an excellent scheme."

Veale Wasbrough's managing partner, Simon Pizzey, said: "We have gained a strong reputation for the quality of our staff training and Bristol is recognised as a great place to live and work.

"Consequently we receive hundreds of applicants for the training scheme every year.

"Our six candidates will now have the opportunity over the next couple of years to work in a variety of areas of the law and to work alongside some of the countries' leading lawyers."
