For an example of how we are lied to by politicians, consider this.

The people of Swindon are being asked to raise £3m to ensure a new radiography unit is built and maintained at the GWH.

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance requires donations approaching £3m per annum to keep their aircraft flying and the Prospect Hospice is dependent on charity to provide much-needed ‘end of life’ care.

The Government claims it has no money and is constantly telling us that even more savings have to be made. Is this true or is it simply a political con?

This last week the Prime Minister has committed £1bn to help stabilise the Ukraine. That is to help support a group of dissidents who are keen to forge links with the European Union and to join NATO.

The elected government of the Ukraine wasn’t keen to do either but a dissenting minority, encouraged by Western influences including the Americans, decided to overthrow the government by force.

The £1bn pledged by Mr Cameron isn’t his money, nor is it the Government’s money – it is taxpayer money. Whilst he may like to appear on the international stage as some modern day ‘lord bountiful’ it is to his shame that he continues to peddle the lie that we must all tighten our belts.

Support for Ukraine is laudable but giving them £1bn of tax payer funds is not necessary and nor is it right.
