YIPPEE! Yippee! Yippee! At 75 years of age, untold wealth at last.
I really thought I was doing well and ready for a round the world cruise, having received my latest pension increase from WCC, a grand total of £7.14 extra going into my account every single month of the year.
But wait a mo, less tax of £5.20 meaning it’s now down to £1.94 a month – not so good now.
Wait again, a rent increase of £1.88 now appears, leaving the enormous sum of 6p per month.
Do I invest it or be a meanie and save it up so I can buy a pint of Stella next summer?
Oh no, not finished yet – Swindon council is now saying I am in debt to the tune of £3.76 because of my increase and they will stop the sum of £10.95 a week until it is paid. Doesn’t matter that I am £267 in credit.
So what I am after is if anyone has a spare calculater, can they please – pretty please – donate it to SBC as they have a dire shortage of them?
