I was very disappointed that Robert Buckland MP voted against reforming the bedroom tax.
He has clearly decided to put the needs of his party above those of some of the most vulnerable and hard-working people in South Swindon.
If the Liberal Democrats can collectively admit they made a mistake why can’t supposed Conservative moderates like Mr Buckland?
The arguments put forward to suggest that this measure is in some way more fair than what came before are the dry technicalities of an accountant or barrister, not the convictions of a responsible and compassionate politician with their feet on the ground.
Along with his recent decision to become a government minister it is becoming increasingly obvious that Mr Buckland is the Conservative representative in South Swindon, not a Conservative representative for South Swindon.
