Being as Steve Thompson took it upon himself to criticise and pass judgement on my letter ‘UK at breaking point’, I have considered that it warrants a reply in kind, as he is quite wrong in his interpretation of what I wrote, along with what seems to be a complete misunderstanding of its underlying purpose.

Mr Thompson makes no mention of, and thus seems to have missed completely, the whole significance behind the letter, which was to highlight the effect that continued military destabilisation and blatant interference in the internal affairs of Middle Eastern countries by the USA is having, with the resultant effect of displacing the peoples from their lands, and thus swelling the ranks of would be illegal UK immigrants in Calais.

Indeed I must conclude that he is quite naive if he thinks none of these illegal immigrants would be refused treatment at any NHS hospital. Has he never heard of the Hippocratic Oath taken by every doctor in the land?

Furthermore, is he also naive as to never have watched the numerous TV documentaries that have highlighted how easy it is for a whole dedicated cottage industry to produce fake documentation and acquire fraudulently, that which has been issued quite legitimately for our citizens?

I must stand by what I say in that the problems being created for us by US interference in other countries that this country unquestionably seems to support, leads to increased numbers of illegal immigrants which in turn affects the money available for the NHS, pensioners and the overall welfare system of the UK.

Surely he must realise people who find themselves ‘without’ are extremely resourceful, and as the time old saying goes, there is always a way around any problem.
