As a member of St Philip’s Church, Upper Stratton, I am deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved vicar and friend, the Rev Carol Stone.
She will be so deeply missed by so many for her compassion, caring, wisdom, knowledge and humour, always travelling the extra mile to assist not just her congregation but anyone who needed help and support.
Many have good reason to mourn her loss.
Of course, no one can please all of the people all of the time, but she coped with her share of ridicule and sometimes spitefulness with the grace and dignity which was typically her, gladly turning the other cheek.
Carol handled her illness with the courage, grace and humility she showed throughout her ministry and I, like so very many who loved her, will miss her dreadfully. God bless you dear Carol.
