I must admit l had to stifle a laugh when l read the report on the Public meeting held on Tuesday night.
Coun Heenan expressed frustration as he “saw people failing to budge from an entrenched position – and no one was interested in what l had to say.” Well, well, Mr Heenan – now you know how the electorate have felt on innumerous occasions at council meetings discussing various planning and public interest issues. Coun. Heenan and his ilk have consistantly “not budged” from their entrenched positions and have never been interested in what others have to say. It’s a case of the pot calling the kettle black, l say. Now he knows how we the electorate feel on many occasions when dealing with issues. “We need action,” he says – well, do something we all need and want, build the relief road and stop carping on about it.
