I read with interest the article on page 4 of the SA of March 5, “Greens blitz town’s poll in bid for seats”. The Old Town candidate Rae-Louise McKellar said: “I believe in transparency, fairness and honesty, values I see time and time again in the Green Party”.
May I point out that I can well remember attending a lecture in Swindon given by two Green Party members, showing some still photos on a screen of a long line of cars with only one person in each car, the driver.
So I pointed out that the pictures shown were not really fair or honest, because cars are not only for carrying passengers but goods as well and you cannot see what’s being transported in the boot. In fact a hatchback car with the seats down can carry as much as some vans.
All of us are ‘green’ to some extent and have been all of our lives. So you would think all of the Green Party members would be shouting from the rooftops about the massive increase of newcomers into this small overcrowded island in the UK because most pollution comes from people.
