WELL written Tom Bassam, I support you — ethics... ethics... and ethics.

I’m a Swindon born fan living in the United States, in California and at times Texas, and never miss a game on STFC playing. I love it and have been to over 800 games in my life time and every Wembley final.

I cannot believe Coops on Saturday the weekend before last, no integrity at all. I understand resting players, but not against the opposition when it matters, when so much is riding on the game for many supporters around the league who have followed their teams faithfully all season in the hope every game is honest and competitive and fair, and they stand a chance to win or lose something through honesty and integrity.

That Saturday, we failed football. We failed the 92 clubs and their fans that would hope we all show integrity.

If you listen to Coops’ before the PNE game he had to be asked, “But what about the three points?”

He never even gave it a thought until he was asked. He knew we were beaten before we even travelled.

We failed all football clubs and fans; we failed PNE for going up unchallenged in the penultimate game and gave them promotion on a plate. We failed MK Dons who really thought they had a great chance of going up.

Integrity is stepping up and playing your best effort when someone else’s success is at stake. It takes a man to give it his best shot knowing he may even injure someone in his future plans, but integrity is, you step up and do the right thing in life — in our case for the good of football.

We owe apologies to the Football League and our own fans and kids.

What example of leadership was that — to try and gain for yourself at the cost of another fair chance of success?

What if MK Dons did that to us?

I have lost the excitement for playoffs; we do not deserve to be represented. How can we do that to another club?

It’s just wrong.

I want to win like everyone else, but let’s do it ethically.
