I WONDER how many readers took in the splendid news that the town of Royal Wootton Bassett has gone into the superfast broadband age of 4G?
It would seem the councillors who run the town must have some street cred about them, as they didn’t go down the road of doing the job themselves and pay out £4m for 29 masts and no signal until 2016.
No, they chose Vodafone, who installed it and it will be up and running for 98 per cent of the town by the end of this year. The company Swindon Council went for, which has its HQ in Hong Kong, must be laughing all the way to the bank.
