A WHILE ago a Christian couple who owned a B&B establishment as part of their private home were taken to task for refusing to take a booking from two gay men.

We then have a bakery that refused a request from a gay rights activist for an order for a cake with a "Support Gay Marriage" slogan.

We then had the yes vote for same-sex marriage in Northern Ireland.

I am not anti-gay. I have friends who aspire to that way of life but I don’t want it rammed down my throat as being prejudiced.

If a Christian business has its principles to not accept this type of business, then to me that should be their choice.

I am all for a civil ceremony for gay couples to declare a partnership but not marriage.

We have celebrities making statements about their sexuality as though it really matters.

They encourage others who are not able to find their own way through life and make their own decisions because we have rights! Well so do we as Christians!

I am not saying that gay people are not Christians but their views differ from the tenet of other Christians and their interpretation of those beliefs.

I also know that many voters in Northern Ireland were of many religions and voted accordingly.

I see future talks in school playgrounds following the line of: “I have a mummy and a daddy, why do you have two daddies?” “Why do you have two mummies?”

To the more educated and knowledgeable young ones: “How did your mummies or daddies have you”?

I see confusion in the distant future and I see prejudice against Christian beliefs.

I also see people telling me where I am wrong. Remember though, it is just my humble opinion which I have a right to express without being castigated for it!
