WHAT is the council spending our money on? Recently my daughter was performing at the Little Big Festival at the Old Town Bowl. With parking very limited and with little time to get there, I parked in Quarry Road (which I have done on previous occasions).

When I returned after 45 minutes, I discovered I had a parking ticket along with seven others from our dance school.

The council would have made a small fortune that day as there were other dance groups there, so how can they not have the budget to repair potholes and other things with the amount they make on parking fines, as well as people paying their council tax?

For the last two years we have asked for a tree to be cut down and we were told they had run out of budget last year, and to date it has still not been done.

There is not much parking in the Old Town Garden area so people will not go there.

I understand there are residents but I was not parking outside their houses.

In fact one resident was going into her house and never even pointed out the parking restrictions to me.

I am very disappointed, especially as our children were performing to the public for free. It turned out to be an expensive day.
