A LETTER appeared in the Swindon Advertiser, on Monday, October 22.
Myself and my fellow work colleagues decided to send some parcels over.
Today I went to the post office and was informed that the freepost is only to named individuals.
The following, though, is on the BFPO website.
The free service applies to the following BFPO numbers: 210, 221, 276, 368, 374, 434, 452, 632, 635, 639, 641, 661, 684, 715, 755, 758, 764, 767, 772, 792. The free service is restricted to named individuals.
While Royal Mail recognises the desire of individuals to support troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, the scheme is specifically intended to support the families and friends of servicemen and women.
So do any of the Adver readers have a family member in Afghanistan/Iraq that we could send our parcels to so that he/she could distribute them to their fellow troops?
(Mrs) J GRIFFITHS-JAMES.
Rodbourne.
